Magic South
Southern Magic. On this magical journey, we’ll head to the shore called Gris-Gris, where the turbulent ocean crashes against volcanic cliffs, creating an incredible spectacle of elemental power. The next stage involves a visit to the picturesque nature reserve known as La Vanile, where we’ll encounter Nile crocodiles, giant tortoises, and other animals native to the area. Pay special attention to the tortoises, as you can gently stroke and feed them, offering a carefully selected branch with leaves. It’s also worth exploring the rare and fascinating collection of butterflies and other colorful insects, totaling around 23,000 species.
Within the park, you’ll find a recommended restaurant where you can taste local cuisine, and for the more adventurous, there’s an opportunity to sample crocodile dishes. The next highlight of the trip is a visit to the local rum distillery, Saint Aubin, where you’ll learn about the process of creating this popular island spirit and get to taste it (at least 10 shots). After the rum distillery, we’ll head towards one of Mauritius’ greatest geological attractions, Terre des Sept Couleurs (Earth of Seven Colors), and the majestic 100-meter Chamarel waterfall.
The magical landscape of the Seven Colored Earth is globally unique—a true wonder of nature. Its singularity arises from the specifically shaped terrain with shimmering colors, thanks to minerals like iron, clay, and aluminum. The visual effect greatly depends on the time of day, humidity, and sunlight. During the excursion, we’ll visit a restaurant to savor local delicacies.
